Not a bad venue only wish is that it had a bar in the outdoor area
This place is so much fun. I went when it was dead and chatted with the staff all night. Great music, great food, and cool atmosphere. I will definitely come back!
Terrible service by one girl, bland food, unidentified white substance on my vegetables, standard albeit far-too-rare steak, cool museum-like setting. One taller thin fair-haired caucasian female "supervisor" employee left a sour taste. With our food in front of us, she responded to our request for some steak knives by telling us to get them ourselves. I asked politely for her to get them for us, and she looked like she wanted to stab me. She handed them to me after holding them firmly by the eating edge, with a cold stare. Not what you want on holidays. Worst service of my life, and the worst I've seen working in hospitality for 5 years.
This place used to be great, however in the last few months it has gone down hill rather fast, especially after the liquor license breach, and the assault by 3 of there security guards on a 50 year old man, they followed down the rear alleyway, trying to make sure they were not witnessed by security cameras. Be aware the security will also kick out older patrons who are not intoxicated and have been spending money, to make room for younger females, who are clearly very intoxicated, and whom these security officers deem to be attractive. No wonder they have had breeches of the liquor license. Avoid this place, it is a shame it has fallen so far, it used to be such a great place. Guess its the new owners and their dodgy security guards
The decorations at this restaurant are the only positive I can comment on. The food, service, and billing were absolutely atrocious. The short blonde haired waitress we ordered dinner from never submitted our order, yet we were charged twice for dinner. After waiting 45+ min for food (with buzzer sitting at our table) we finally enquirer only to learn oops I forgot to send in your order. No apology, food came out 10 min later and was disgusting. Guinness meat pie was a tiny bit of steak in a dish with mashed potatoes on top. The minute piece of steak was cold and rubbery. When we complained the same waitress told us it didnt matter our food was bad, because she forgot to charge us and that if we checked our bank statement, not to worry that there wouldnt be a charge. Wrong, we were charge TWICE for the meal. When we confronted the owner of the restaurant with our downloaded bank statement in hand showing the two charges, both she and him yelled at us (with profanity) with the waitress calling us liars. I have never experienced such appalling service, especially by a restaurant owner and am disappointed that this happened on our vacation. There are many better places on your trip to Alice, I cannot urge you enough to choose a different restaurant after our experience.
