A truly unique place. One of those destinations you've got to see as you come through town. We all ordered the Drovers Blowout (the signature) and were not disappointed. The wild meats were the highlight! The portions are huge and the staff are great.
Excellent and friendly service. Delicious food especially the ribs. They offer 3 kinds: pork, beef and lamb. They also offer exotic meats like kangaroo and camel. The quiet and calm atmosphere makes for a very enjoyable meal where you can spend time catching up with a friend or friends. A bit on the pricey side but well worth it especially for a special occasion like birthdays, valentines, anniversaries and first dates to impress your partner.
If visiting Alice Springs the Overlander is not to be missed. Jenny and her staff's service was exceptional. Meals were well presented, good portions and fabulous food. Had signature dish of beef ribs and lamb shanks for main, challenge you to find better anywhere in Australia. Requested variation to menu at no notice and was accommodated. As new locals to the Alice we look forward to our next dining experience. Thank you to Jenny and team for fabulous evening.. PS love the water trough out the front for the Police Horses.
Absolutely delicious food! Friendly, personal service in a unique atmosphere full of character. A highly professional restaurant with a homely feel, managed by people who are clearly passionate about food and passionate about people. Lovely to sit down at the piano in the back room and play a few tunes at the end of a great night. Whether you're a tourist or a local, treat yourself to a wonderful dining experience. We will certainly be back!
We had a table of 9 with some of the cousins from Switzerland so it was great to sit down and sample Australian meals of all types. We had the tasting plate with Crocodile and Kangaroo. Most of the meals were very good. They also have a wine cellar, with older well known wines, that was too hard to resist. All in all the venue and the food was very good (compared to what else is available in Alice Springs) so if you're only in town for a few days book a table for your fist night in town and enjoy being a "tourist" in your own country.
