Some really great souvenirs that are unique to Alice Springs. Nice staff.
This is not a review about the Information Centre but rather more to do with Alice Springs in general.We have been coming to Alice Springs for the past 40 years. In the early days there have been some nice improvements to the city centre.However, during our last couple of visits we have notice a real decline, particularly in the central city area.We used to enjoy our walk through the odd Mall during the evening. It was a nice area for tourist shops, cafe's for breakfast, lunch or dinner or enjoy a traditional show.We now find that the general city area needs a major clean up, it is looking grubby and shop owners don't seem to be interested in spending the money to do so.Todd Mall was a real disappointment, it is closed at 5pm weekdays and 12 midday at the weekends.Most of the tourist activities and places to go seem to be directed away from the city centre.I don't wish to mention the reasons for this down hill change, but I hope the town can re vitalise the city centre in the not too distant future.
The staff were not overly friendly, helpful or informative.The Hop On Hop Off tourist bus needs a really good overhaul of the timetable.The shop did have some nice souvenirs.
A must for all visitors to Alice Springs (local NT residents or outside the NT). Good range of souvenirs as well for those who want a reminder of their visit. Friendly staff.
